DECEMBER 1, ROMANIA’S NATIONAL DAY

Simoultaneous concerts offered by the talented instrument players of the National Folklore Orchestra in Brussels, Milan and Barcelona

The concerts offered a musical feast for the public that involved songs from several musical genres such as: folklore, sacred music, jazz, cafe-concert and relaxation music. In organizing these events we had the support of the Romanian Embassy in Brussels, the Romanian Consulates in Milan and Barcelona. Among the guests there were important local personalities from the political and cultural arenas.

The National Folklore Orchestra and Anca Parghel Band have performed in an extraordinary concert that illustrated the musical evolution of Romanian jazz and its harmonic correspondences with the folklore. The concert was broadcast on TVR1 on the first day of Easter.

“OVIDIUS 2050. A BRIDGE OVER TIME AND SPACE” CONCERT

Conductor Constantin Arvinte. Constanta, August 19, 2007. On this occasion, The National Folklore Orchestra has received the “Publius Ovidius Naso” jubilee diploma for extraordinary performance handed by Academician Constantin Bălăceanu - Stolnici.

Conductor: Constantin Arvinte. Otopeni, September 9, 2007. The concert was sustained by 28 instrument players. Special guests: Maria Cârneci, Nicoleta Voica, Pop Simion, Cătălin Maximiuc, Petrică Stoian Mâţu. Over 1500 people present. The concert was recorded and broadcast on TVR2 and TVRM. “LATE FALL AT THE PALACE” CONCERT

Conductor: Constantin Arvinte. Stirbei Palace, November 3, 2007. Over 100 people present from the business world and representatives of Romanian mass media. The audience enjoyed the fine rhythms of late fall in an exquisite atmosphere that reminded of the last century.

CONCERT FOR THE DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN IN THE ILFOV AREA

Conductor: Constantin Arvinte. On the occasion of the Holy Winter Holidays, Human Valences Foundation organized a benefit concert held in a tent placed in Constitution Square on December 12 at 11 am. Partners: Zero Events, ARCUB, and Bucharest City Hall.

Palace Hall, Bucharest, December 8, 2007.  Over 2000 people present. The concert was recorded and broadcast on TVR international. 

The concert was sustained by the National Folklore Orchestra led by maestro Constantin Arvinte. Special guests: Andra, Mihai Traistariu, Nico, Gheorghe Turda, Floarea Calota, Angelica Stoican, Lia Lungu, Rodica Anghelescu, Alexandra Bratu, Cristina Manoliu and “The Sound of Music” children’s choir.

This concert had a charitable purpose, as with all the other concerts organized by Human Valences Foundation. Part of the income was donated as presents to the 350 children from placement centers in Bucharest invited to the show.

Nico, Mihai Traistariu and Rodica Anghelescu sang together for the first time the beautiful carol called “Silent Night”.

Concert sustained by 28 instrument players and conducted by Constantin Arvinte.

Special guests: Angela Moldovan, Ionuţ Dolănescu, Maria Ionescu Căpitănescu, Constantin Lătăreţu, Floarea Calotă, Gheorghe Turda and the well-known Norwegian panpipe player Roar Engelberg.

“EUROPEAN VALUES” CONCERT

The National Folklore Orchestra’s launch concert took place on May 31, 2007 at the Parliament Palace. Over 700 guests present, representatives of the Delegation of the European Commission to Romania, representatives of the diplomatic corps of the European Union member states, representatives of China and Japan, representatives of the Romanian Parliament, the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchy, the business community, the civil society, and mass media.

The concert was recorded and broadcast on TVR International. Media reactions:
“An amazing show and a musical feast. This is how one can describe in a few words the launch concert of the National Folklore Orchestra, held Wednesday evening at the Parliament Palace and conducted by maestro Gheorghe Zamfir. The show was comprised of two parts and ended in standing ovations. In the repertoire there were the Romanian traditional “horas”, “sarbas”, and songs of an intense emotional content.” (The National Journal)

“ODE TO JOY” EXTRAORDINARY CONCERT

Conductor: Gheorghe Zamfir. The concert was held at the Radio Hall (Sala Radio) and was sustained by 28 instrument players of the National Folklore Orchestra, with Gheorghe Turda as a special guest. Over 500 people present. The concert was recorded and broadcast on TVR2.
