Maestro Constantin Arvinte, one of best-known folkloric conductors and composers of our times, has had a remarkable contribution in the Romanian music field and has been distinguished with numerous creation prizes.
He began his activity as conductor for different assemblies in Iasi, and then became Musical Secretary, folklore orchestrator, artistic director and conductor of the “Ciocarlia” Assembly, counselor for the Music Department of the Ministry of Culture. Maestro Arvinte was also artistic director and conductor of the Romanian Rhapsody Assembly.
In his prestigious career, he has enjoyed the appreciation of renowned maestros, among which D.D. Botez, Mircea Chiriac, Dinu Stelian, and Victor Predescu. He has collaborated with well-known musicians, choreographers and folklorists such as Marin Constantinescu, Ionel Budisteanu, Floria Capsali, Gheorghe Baciu, Tamara Cap, and many more.
His musical creation is comprised of more than 200 works for orchestra, choir and vocal soloists, interpreted today by numerous choir bands, orchestras and prestigious folkloric assemblies in Romania and abroad. Maestro Constantin Arvinte’s panpipe reorchestrations - about which George Auric said that ‘they symbolize God’s nostalgia’ - have received warm applauses on the great stages of the world.
Maestro Constantin Arvinte joined the Human Valences Foundation with the purpose of supporting the National Folklore Orchestra project as mentor, conductor, orchestrator, composer and musical coordinator, working to mold young artists and to preserve the Romanian folkloric heritage.
